HortPark's last Gardeners' Day Out of 2026 is Saturday 21 November, 9am to 3pm, at 33 Hyderabad Road. NParks still has that date on the official page. The November talk list is not up yet. The August programme is what the page still shows. Go for the marketplace and the gardens, not for a speaker you cannot name.
This is the quarterly one, not a mall atrium. Four dates this year. 7 February, 13 and 14 June, 15 August, then 21 November. Time is 9am to 3pm on the day. The park itself stays open 6am to 11pm.
Marketplace booth applications for 21 November opened 1 October at 10am and closed 8 October at 5pm. NParks allocates stalls by computer ballot, not first come first served. Hobbyists paid $20 to apply, commercial sellers $30. If you got a booth, the confirmation mail was due 14 working days after close. If you did not apply, you are buying, not selling.
Bring a reusable bag. NParks says that every time because people still turn up empty-handed and then buy too many pots. The Pasir Panjang nursery booth is a regular on these days. Unique plants, not supermarket succulents. Talks and demonstrations are free unless the listing says otherwise, seats first come first served, no pre-registration for the ones that ran in August.
What August actually had, so you know the shape
August's talks sat in the multi-purpose hall. Orchid mounting with K K Ling from the Orchid Society of South East Asia at 10.15am. A hand-tied bouquet session with Low Shi Min from Nobleman School of Floral Design at 11.15am after a companion-planting talk was cancelled. NParks' Vicky Lim on ornamental shrubs at 1.30pm. Garden Trail and Orchid Garden tours at 9am, meet at Visitor Services 15 minutes early.
Workshops spilled outside. National Gallery Singapore ran batik art carts. Nobleman did pipe-cleaner posies in two sessions. A Papilionanthe Miss Joaquim talk sat in the Leaf Room at 9am. None of that is confirmed for November. Treat it as the usual skeleton. Marketplace, a hall talk or two, a garden tour if they staff it.
The edible plots are why this belongs on a food site. HortPark is the Southern Ridges gardening hub, 10.7 hectares, themed gardens, a lawn people picnic on, and a nursery culture that leaks into Bukit Merah kitchens. You can walk from here onto Forest Walk and Henderson Waves after you dump the plants in the car. That walk has its own lighting mess until 30 November. Do GDO in daylight. Do the ridges later only if you read the Telok Blangah notice.
Getting there without guessing
Address is 33 Hyderabad Road, Singapore 119578. NParks lists Labrador Park, HarbourFront, Queenstown and Commonwealth as nearby stations. Labrador Park MRT is the one I would actually use, then walk. The car park has 149 car lots, 11 motorcycle lots, 5 bus lots and 2 accessible lots. Parking is charged. Telok Blangah Hill and Mount Faber lots are free, this one is not.
Visitor services at HortPark run 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 5pm on weekdays, 8.30am to 12.30pm on weekends and public holidays. On GDO Saturday the event outlasts the counter. You will not get a lost-and-found miracle at 2pm from that desk.
Do not touch the bee hotels on the bee trail. Drone use on HortLawn, Hort Centre or Silver Garden needs an application at least two weeks ahead. Filming the same. None of that is a GDO activity. Leave the bees.
GardeningSG's events listing, last updated 4 August, still describes GDO as bazaars, talks, workshops and tours, four times a year. That is the whole pitch. ParentLah and other roundups pad it with Gardens by the Bay. Skip that. Gardens by the Bay is not south and not this date.
If NParks posts the November speakers in the next few weeks, the same URL will update. Until then, the facts that will not move are the Saturday, the hours, the address, and a marketplace that already balloted.
