Aziz Jaffar Muslim Food has been a fixture of Singapore's hawker scene since 1968, originally operating at Chinatown Complex before opening its second outlet at Alexandra Village Food Centre. The stall is best known for its mee siam, featuring springy vermicelli in a tangy gravy using asam keping instead of the more common tamarind pulp, alongside lontong, mee rebus, and nasi lemak, all priced at just $3.50.

Head cook Madam Rozita makes most spice pastes from scratch, and her chicken wings are a standout, marinated in turmeric and chilli with a light, crispy rice-flour crust. The housemade serunding, toasted grated coconut with spices, elevates the lontong, while the begedil, deep-fried to golden perfection, is a must-order side.
