Heritage pau and pastry shop from the 1960s Tanjong Rhu stretch, still hand-making fluffy steamed buns daily.
Chin Sin Huan is one of the old-guard Chinese bakeries along the Tanjong Rhu stretch, tracing its roots back to the 1960s when handmade pau was a neighbourhood staple. The stall continues to prepare its steamed buns the traditional way, folding each one by hand and steaming them fresh throughout the day. The result is a characteristically soft, pillowy skin that yields to savoury and sweet fillings alike, a texture that mass-produced versions struggle to replicate. The menu centres on classic char siew pau, big pau, and lotus paste pau, with occasional seasonal items appearing during festive periods. Early birds get the best selection, as popular varieties sell out well before closing.
Prices remain modest, a reflection of the stall''s commitment to serving the community rather than chasing trends. For a taste of old-school Tanjong Rhu, Chin Sin Huan''s handmade pau delivers a humble, honest bite that has stood the test of time. It is heritage in a steamer basket.

Had a bad service experience at the Great World City branch this morning. Customer service needs to be improved. Instead of placating the customer with a simple apology, the service worker kept arguing with the customer, insisting that she was right and customer was wrong.

It is a small stall for take away. You may choose either hot which is ready to be eaten or cold ones which can be kept in your fridge. I have not encountered with any services. Now credit card is accepted.
