Fish Mart SAKURAYA is a hybrid Japanese grocer and restaurant tucked away in the basement of Anchorpoint, opposite IKEA Alexandra. It is a two-in-one setup: a retail section stocked with Japanese groceries, fresh seafood, and a solid sake selection, alongside a spacious dining area where you can enjoy proper Japanese fare. The concept is simple — you can buy fresh seafood from the retail counter and have it prepared in the restaurant, making it a favourite with nearby residents and office workers.

The dining menu covers the usual Japanese staples: sushi, sashimi, tempura, grilled fish, and noodle sets. The saba shioyaki (mackerel, $8) punches above its weight for flavour and texture, while the tempura soba ($16) delivers satisfyingly bouncy noodles, even if the batter leans a touch thick.
