Bukit Merah View stall wok-frying fragrant Hokkien prawn mee and crispy fried oyster omelette.
Lai Heng at Bukit Merah View Hawker Centre is a dual-speciality stall, expertly preparing two of Singapore's most beloved hawker dishes: Hokkien prawn mee and fried oyster omelette. The Hokkien mee features a tangle of yellow and white noodles wok-fried in a rich prawn broth, topped with succulent prawns, pork slices and crispy pork lard, with a moist, gravy-soaked texture that fans of the dish adore. The fried oyster omelette, or orh luak, is equally accomplished, with a crispy, starchy egg crust encasing plump, briny oysters. The chilli sauce served alongside is tangy and spicy, cutting through the richness of both dishes with aplomb.
Lai Heng is a two-for-one treasure at Bukit Merah View, mastering both Hokkien mee and fried oyster with equal skill. It is a stall that delivers the best of hawker frying tradition.

$5 portion. 2 prawns and 1 sotong built no pork. Chilli so so. No pork lard. Taste ok. Overall is average.

Friendly boss. Hokkien mee is pretty good, it is the wet kind. Shiok to eat together with the sambal chilli. $4 portion came with 2 prawns. However I don't really like the black carrot cake, not to my personal preference as it's more on the soy sauce / salty side rather than sweet black sauce taste. It was rather wet as well. Overall will recommend the Hokkien mee, but not the black carrot cake.

The hokkien prawn mee is good. Can try again. The oyster or-luak can improve. Large and fresh oysters.

I always come here for their white carrot cake, very tasty. I like that it is on the softer side.
