Chongqing-style old hotpot at Great World — fiery, aromatic, and made for sharing.
Uncle Fong Hotpot Restaurant at Great World brings the bold, numbing flavours of Chongqing old hotpot to Singapore, served in a stylish setting that balances tradition with modern comfort. Known for its authentic mala broth — a fiery, fragrant base infused with Sichuan peppercorns, dried chillies, and aromatic spices — the restaurant delivers the kind of heat that hotpot enthusiasts travel for.
The rich, red broth is the star, though milder options are available for those who prefer a gentler experience. The ingredient selection is extensive, covering premium meats, fresh seafood, handmade meatballs, and a wide variety of vegetables and tofu. Dipping sauces can be mixed at the condiment bar to your liking.
The Great World outlet is well-appointed and spacious, making it a strong choice for group dinners and celebrations where the shared hotpot experience truly shines. For hotpot that brings the fire, Uncle Fong at Great World is the place — bold broth, great company, and unforgettable heat.

The food is not bad. The service also quite fast. However one thing I want to feedback is the chopsticks that are given. They all look black and old some even crack. They should change to plastic one instead of wood as it seems unhygienic or have health concern with this type of chopsticks

Uncle Fong Hotpot (Great World) - A Birthday Celebration Worthy of 4 Stars!
My colleagues and I recently visited Uncle Fong Hotpot in Great World to celebrate our boss's birthday, and it was a fantastic choice! The restaurant provided a lively and celebratory atmosphere for our special occasion.
We opted for the Mala and Collagen soup base combination, and both were delicious. The Mala broth had that authentic Chongqing kick – spicy and numbing, but not overwhelmingly so. The Collagen broth was rich, flavorful, and provided a welcome balance to the intensity of the Mala. It was the perfect combination for our group, with something for everyone.
The ingredients were also notably fresh and of good quality. The sliced meats were tender and flavorful. The dipping sauce station offered a wide variety of options, allowing us to customize our flavors perfectly.
The service, while friendly, was a bit inattentive at times. We occasionally had a hard time getting the staff's attention when we needed assistance.
While the price point is definitely on the higher side, the quality of the ingredients, the delicious broths, and the overall experience made it a worthwhile splurge for a special occasion.
Overall, Uncle Fong Hotpot provided a memorable and enjoyable dining experience for our boss's birthday celebration. We'd definitely recommend it for a group dinner or special occasion, especially if you're looking for a taste of authentic Chongqing hotpot.

Dropped by this place with a sudden urge for hot pot. Chose a Mala and normal soup base and ordered a mutton set and add on with duck feet, fish slices and mushrooms. …

Absolute legend this place, been back almost 10 times already. The pork bone soup is not oily and mala soup is very drinkable, not “jelat” one. Must try!
