Legendary Redhill hawker stall dishing up smoky wok-hei hor fun with savoury gravy, a staple of Singapore''s hawker heritage.
Wok Hei Hor Fun (Redhill Original Stall) is a well-known name in the Bukit Merah hawker scene, famous for delivering on its promise: rice noodles infused with the breath of the wok. The stall''s signature dish features flat rice noodles stir-fried with a fierce wok hei, topped with a savoury gravy laden with sliced pork, vegetables, and egg.It is the kind of plate that exemplifies why Singapore hawker food commands UNESCO recognition. The Redhill original designation signals a heritage that long-time residents recognise, and the stall has maintained its following through consistent execution of a single dish done right.
Queues form during peak hours, a testament to the stall''s reputation among those who know their hor fun. If you are at Bukit Merah View Market and want a plate of noodles that tastes like hawker history, Wok Hei Hor Fun is the stall to seek out. It is smoky, savoury, and unapologetically local.

It's still not the best I had, but the level of wok hei was there. However, the ingredients were disappointing as they were mostly frozen and prawn not very fresh. Lard was also stale. Overall, can eat, but I wouldn't travel all the way here just for this.

The Hor fun has a wok hei touch to it. Sliced beef is slightly chewy but unveiled its flavor with the chewing. …

The hor fun really has good wok hei as it is named. I had the assorted hot fun. It is loaded with a lot of pork slices, 2 deshelled prawns and 2-3 thick slices of fish. The oiled veggie dish is based on choi sim. I preferred it more if it is kai lan. Overall I will return.

Spotted this hor fun on so many tables, I had to give it a try — and I’m glad I did. Excellent stir-fried kway teow that’s full of wok hei [a.k.a. smoky aroma], coated in a slurpy, eggy gravy. Topped off with the essential crispy pork lard for that perfect crunchy finish. 🙃 …
